This article explains how creating an action plan will help you adhere to your healthy lifestyle commitment.

Once you’re in the right mind-set to be successful and you’ve made a commitment to yourself to live healthier, you must understand exactly what you need to do to be successful at this goal as well as other goals you may have (such as weight loss, toning, muscle building, having more energy, etc.). Creating an action plan by which to achieve your goals (and then actually following it) is imperative to your success.
Your exercise program must:

·         Reflect your goals
·         Correct your muscle imbalances
·         Be designed for your level of workout experience
·         Take into consideration your current lifestyle stressors
·         Be time efficient
·         Integrate a nutrition program

You must focus on the steps you need to take every day to live healthy – not on the overall goal itself.
·         Mentally focus on being successful
·         List your motivations
·         List your barriers to success and how to overcome them
·         Establish clearly defined goals
·         Create mini-goals
·         List the steps to achieve each mini-goal
·         Make your workouts fun
·         Make a commitment
·         Track your progress
·         Develop a back-up plan for set-backs
